Social Media Audit

A good audit tells you what's actually happening — not what you hope is happening. It's the honest starting point for any serious work on social media.

What the audit covers

I look at your own channels in depth — performance data, content, consistency, positioning — and benchmark you against your key competitors. I also include an out-of-sector best practice example, giving you a wider frame of reference beyond just what your direct competitors are doing.

The number of competitors covered affects the scope and cost — typically two to four is the right range.

What you get

A clear, readable document covering what's working, what isn't, where the gaps are, and what the immediate priorities should be. It's designed to be actionable — something you can brief from, present internally, or use as the foundation for a strategy project.

Audit and strategy

An audit works well as a standalone piece of work — sometimes that's all you need to get clarity and reset priorities. But it's also the natural starting point for a strategy project, and the two are closely linked.

Going straight to strategy without any audit work is possible, but the recommendations will always be stronger when they're grounded in actual data rather than assumptions.
