Twenty years of marketing experience.
One agency built and sold.
I've spent two decades figuring out what actually works in marketing and social media — founding, scaling and selling Hydrogen, one of Scotland's best-known social media agencies, before going independent. I work directly with leadership teams and senior marketers who need experienced strategic input without the layers of a traditional agency. No account managers, no handoffs — just direct senior involvement at every stage.
Social media should move the needle, not just look good.
There's no point spending time and resource on social media for the sake of it. Every bit of activity should have a purpose — and ultimately, contribute to real business results. If a strategy doesn't have a clear purpose, it isn't the right strategy.
Involved beyond the day job
I’m a big believer in staying involved in the wider industry. I’ve been invited to judge The Drum Awards twice and have spoken at events like Social Day in London. I bring those same global standards to everything I do closer to home—whether that’s lecturing at City of Glasgow College or keeping close to what’s happening across the industry.
How I work
I don't operate like a traditional agency. I work as a strategic partner, which means I’m honest about what’s working and what isn’t.
I focus on three things: clarity, commercial impact, and implementation. Whether I’m acting as a Fractional Head of Social or conducting a one-off audit, you get my direct involvement and twenty years of experience at every stage.
No junior account managers, no jargon—just straightforward, senior-level advice.
Who I work with
I typically work with senior marketers and marketing leaders at ambitious brands — organisations that have a team in place but lack clear strategic direction or experienced senior oversight above them. If your social media is busy but not delivering, or you're looking for a senior partner rather than another agency, we're probably a good fit.
